LIVING AND WORKING IN THE MOUNTAINS IN A SUSTAINABLE WAY IS THE INTENT THAT GUIDES US IN EVERY CHOICE
This is a great challenge in the high mountains, where it is necessary to find the compromise between ideals and practicalities.
With the latest extension of the refuge in 2019, many environmentally friendly updates have been implemented.

HERE IS THE NEWS:
- we use ceramic dishes and glasses in order to eliminate as much as of the plastic as possible;
- we have replaced traditional detergents with effective ecological ones containing vegetable-based surfactants. The detergents are produced by ALPEKO, a local laboratory;
- the new structure was designed and built by XLAM DOLOMITI, which is a company that uses wooden components from forests that are certified for being environmentally sustainable. They also specialize in insulation and making building more comfortable and effective both in terms of energy and costs;
- most of the electricity needed by the shelter is being produced by a solar panel system. The project is the optimization of energy expenditure with the integration of tubular solar panels for heating water.
